An Italian doctor who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone has been cured of the disease and released from hospital.
50-year-old Fabrizio Pulvirenti arrived in Rome on November 25 and was treated at the Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital.
Speaking about his experience with the disease, Pulvirenti told journalists:
“For the first few days, partly to keep my mind active, I tried to examine every symptom I was experiencing scientifically.”
“Then there came a moment when I lost consciousness of what was going on around me and I don’t remember anything that happened for about two weeks,”
he added.
